The Bombay Municipality, allotted to the Society two plots of land very near the Kolwada Railway Station with two old military barracks, where the venture started on 01.07.1947 with 29 students on roll in Guru Nanak primary School and 60 students in Guru Nanak High School. The land made available, being low lying and marshy and the barracks in almost dilapidated condition the society had to incur a good deal of expenditure in the initial stages to make the said site and the barracks usable for school purposes. At a little later stage another piece of land admeasuring about 16,000 sq. yds. Was acquired from the Municipal Corporation of Bombay to be used as a School playground.
